How to take care of Hot and Cold Water Dispenser

India has a wide range of meteorological conditions. Summers may be exceedingly hot and humid, while winters can be pretty chilly. Whatever the weather conditions are outdoors, you must stay hydrated by drinking enough water. Obtaining cold or hot water on demand can be a time-consuming operation. A hot and cold water dispenser may save a lot of the bother that comes with having a good glass of water.

Taking care of your hot and cold water dispenser

It’s always a good idea to take care of things, and keeping your hot and cold water dispenser in the right place is a good choice after all. Apart from using it right,  cleaning is also mandatory when we think of taking care of it.

You should clean the water dispenser on a regular basis. The  Department of Energy suggests cleaning the dispenser every six weeks. The most crucial aspect of dispenser maintenance is keeping the water clean. Fortunately, cleaning your dispenser takes a few minutes, some water, and either bleach or vinegar will do the work.

Before you begin cleaning, keep the following points in mind:

When conducting any maintenance on your water dispenser, always read and follow the manufacturer's user handbook. Dispenser parts and inner workings differ depending on brand and model, therefore consult the instructions to avoid damage.

Always empty the water dispenser before cleaning it. Consult the user handbook to ensure that this is done correctly and safely.

Before emptying the water tanks, always make sure the hot water reservoir tank has cooled.

When preparing to sterilize your water dispenser, use a cleaning chemical that is efficient against bacteria, germs, and mineral buildup. We propose using white vinegar or bleach in the following amounts:

  • 1/2 gallon of white vinegar + 1/2 gallon of water

  • 1 gallon of water plus 2 teaspoons of bleach

Assemble the required cleaning supplies and prepare to clean an empty water dispenser. You will require:

  • White vinegar or bleach

  • Microfiber cloth in a bucket

  • fresh rubber gloves

  • Water

If you decide to use bleach, we recommend 1 tablespoon of unscented chlorine bleach per gallon of water.

Cleaning our George hot and cold water dispenser.

Turn off the water dispenser.

Unplug the water dispenser from the electrical outlet and let the hot water reservoir to cool to confirm that the water dispenser is safe to sanitize.

Take out the water bottle and scrub the holder.

Remove the water bottle and examine the bottle holder and valve for any mildew or buildup that may have formed.

Wipe off the surface with a microfiber cloth.

Dip a clean microfiber cloth into your cleaning solution and gently wipe. If the buildup is very obstinate, make a paste of baking soda and water.

Remove the water guard and clean it.

Clean with the cleaning solution after removing the water guard, commonly known as the puncturing needle. After washing it with the solution, rinse it thoroughly and lay it aside to dry.

Disassemble and clean the drip guard (if applicable).

Follow the same instructions as with the water guard. If the drip tray does not release from the water dispenser, thoroughly wipe it with a microfiber cloth dipped in the cleaning solution.

Clean the water reservoirs.

When it's time to disinfect the hot and cold water reservoirs, just pour the remaining cleaning solution into the reservoirs of the water dispensers. Allow the cleaning solution to settle for 15 minutes before using the spigots. To guarantee clean spigots on both choices, alternate dispensing the cleaning solution from the hot and cold water dispenser.

Clean out your water dispenser.

Once the water dispenser has finished dispensing all of the cleaning solutions, start filling the reservoirs with water to flush out any remaining vinegar or bleach. If there is still a vinegar or bleach odor or taste, rinse the device with two or more liters of water.

Reinstall the water barrier and drip tray after thoroughly rinsing the water dispenser. When the fresh, refilled water bottle is in position, plug in the water dispenser and let the water heat and chill.
